The details
How it works and what to expect
How it works
- Upload one photo (e.g. an ID or card photo).
- Set its printed size in millimetres and choose your columns × rows grid.
- Optionally clean the backdrop to white first.
- Download the layout PDF and print it at actual size.
Exact-fit grid
Each cell is drawn at exactly the photo's millimetre size — never enlarged, never distorted. If the photo does not fit the chosen grid, the tool tells you before producing the PDF.

Practical guidance
Using this tool well
When it is the right answer, what tends to go wrong, and what to check before you rely on the result.
Why use it
Exact millimetre sizing matters for passport photos, labels and craft pieces. An exact-fit grid holds each copy at the size you specify while filling the sheet deliberately.
Typical situations
- Copies must print at a precise physical size.
- A sheet needs a fixed grid of identical photos.
- You are producing labels or small prints at a set dimension.
Common problems
Copies print at a different size
Printer scaling overrides the layout. Disable fit-to-page and print at 100%.
The grid does not fit the paper
Fewer columns and rows, or a smaller copy size, will fit. The layout cannot exceed the sheet.
Source resolution is too low for the print size
A small source enlarged to a large copy is soft. Check the pixel dimensions against the print size before committing.
Check before you submit
- Print one copy and measure it with a ruler.
- Confirm every copy in the grid is the same size.
- Check sharpness at the chosen print size.

- Pixels, DPI and physical print size, explainedDPI is not a quality setting — it is the conversion factor between pixels and millimetres. Understanding that one relationship resolves most confusion about print sharpness.
