The natural next step
The details
How it works and what to expect
How it works
- Add your PDF files by dropping them onto the box or clicking to browse.
- Use the up and down arrows to set the exact order you want in the final document.
- Click Apply merge. The files are combined on this device.
- Download the single merged PDF.
What is preserved
- Each page keeps its content, images, text and page size.
- Bookmarks and interactive form fields may not survive the merge — the page contents always do.
- Pages from all inputs appear in the order shown in the list: first PDF first, and so on.
Limits
- Per-file limit of 100 MB.
- Password-protected PDFs are not supported and will show an error.
- Very large merged documents can take a moment — everything is processed on your device.
Privacy
Merge PDF runs entirely in your browser. Your files are not uploaded to any server, and the merged document is created on this device. Nothing in this tool transfers your files over the network.
Practical guidance
Using this tool well
When it is the right answer, what tends to go wrong, and what to check before you rely on the result.
Why use it
Multi-part submissions are usually specified as one file. Merging preserves each page exactly as it was, which is faster and safer than printing and rescanning a stack of documents.
Typical situations
- Cover letter, form and evidence must arrive as a single PDF.
- Several short documents belong in one attachment for an email.
- You are assembling monthly scans into a single record.
Common problems
One PDF in the list is password-protected
Merging must read every page of every part, so a single encrypted file stops the whole run. Unlock it in your reader first, then add the unlocked copy alongside the others.
The order is wrong
Output follows the order in the file list. Check it before merging — reversing afterwards means reopening and reordering pages.
Interactive form fields or bookmarks disappeared
Page contents are preserved; interactive features such as form fields and bookmarks may not survive a merge. Flatten what matters beforehand if you depend on them.
The merged file is too big to send
Merging does not compress. Extract or downsample the heaviest pages if a size limit applies.
Check before you submit
- Page through the whole output and confirm the sequence.
- Confirm page sizes look right when source documents used different paper.
- Check the total file size against any attachment limit.
Questions
Frequently asked questions
Can I merge PDFs of different page sizes?
Yes. Each page keeps its own dimensions, so a merged PDF can contain pages of different sizes.
Do form fields survive a merge?
Page contents always survive. Bookmarks and interactive form fields may not survive the merge.
Is merging done on my device?
Yes — files are combined locally. Nothing is uploaded.

Guides and reference
The reading that goes with this tool — a walkthrough of the job, and the terms it uses.
- How to reduce a PDF size while preserving readabilityMost large PDFs are large because of embedded images, not text. Here is where the bytes actually are, and how to remove them without blurring the content people need to read.
- How to organise multiple images into a single PDFTurning a set of photos or scans into one ordered document is a small task that goes wrong in predictable ways: page order, page size, fit, and margins.
- Split, extract and reorder PDF pages without losing qualityThree closely related jobs that people often confuse — separating, selecting and re-sequencing — and why none of them should involve screenshotting pages.
- How to prepare front-and-back ID documents for digital submissionID uploads usually mean two images (or two pages) with readable text, no glare, no skew and an exact byte budget. Here is the order that gets you there.
