Rotate
90°

The details

How it works and what to expect

How it works

  1. Add your PDF.
  2. Tap ↻ (clockwise) or ↺ (anticlockwise) under a page to rotate it by 90°.
  3. Use Rotate all to rotate every page at once, and Reset to clear the changes.
  4. Click Apply rotation and download the corrected document.

How rotation is applied

Rotation is stored as a page setting, so nothing is redrawn — pages keep their sharpness. Any rotation already stored in the original file is preserved, and your new angle is added on top. Landscape scans that are stored sideways are exactly the case this fixes.

Limits

  • Per-file limit of 100 MB.
  • Password-protected PDFs are not supported and will show an error.
  • Rotations are 90-degree steps only (0°, 90°, 180°, 270°).

Privacy

Rotate PDF runs entirely in your browser. Your file is not uploaded to any server, and the rotated document is created on this device. Nothing in this tool transfers your files over the network.

Practical guidance

Using this tool well

When it is the right answer, what tends to go wrong, and what to check before you rely on the result.

Why use it

Mixed-orientation scans are the classic printing annoyance: every other page lands sideways. Rotating individual pages corrects the file once instead of wrestling with the printer every time.

Typical situations

  • Scans alternate between portrait and landscape.
  • A landscape chart needs turning to read normally.
  • You are preparing a document for double-sided printing.

Common problems

  • Rotation reports the PDF is password-protected

Rotation rewrites page objects, so the source has to be readable: an encrypted file is refused the moment it is added. Unlock it in your reader before rotating.

  • The page rotates further than I wanted

Rotation applies in 90-degree steps and existing rotation is preserved. Apply the step you need relative to what the file already had.

  • It looks correct on screen but prints sideways

Some printers and viewers interpret rotation differently. Check the print preview before printing the whole document.

  • Every page rotated when I only needed one

The tool offers both page-level and whole-document rotation — select the scope deliberately.

Check before you submit

  1. View every page of the output, not just the first.
  2. Open print preview to confirm orientation before printing.
  3. Confirm the page count did not change.
