The details

How it works and what to expect

How it works

  1. Add the PDF you want to print.
  2. Choose the paper (A4, Letter or A5), the safe margin, and whether small pages may be upscaled.
  3. Download the prepared PDF. Each page is placed on its own sheet, oriented to match its content.

Why repaginate?

  • Documents downloaded from forms are often oddly sized and print stretched or clipped.
  • This tool embeds each original page into the new paper sheet, centred and at full quality — no rasterising.
  • Landscape and portrait pages are handled independently, each on a correctly oriented sheet.

Limits

  • PDF pages without any drawable content become correctly sized blank sheets.
  • Preset papers are A4, Letter and A5; margins run 0–50 mm.

Privacy

The PDF is processed entirely in your browser on this device. It is not uploaded to any server.

Practical guidance

Using this tool well

When it is the right answer, what tends to go wrong, and what to check before you rely on the result.

Why use it

A PDF sized for one paper rarely prints cleanly on another, and pages arrive rotated from scanners. Print prep reorients and scales to fit the paper you actually have, centred with proper margins.

Typical situations

  • A Letter document must print on A4 paper (or the reverse).
  • Scanned pages are rotated and sit off-centre when printed.
  • You want consistent margins across a mixed document.

Common problems

  • Print preparation cannot read a locked PDF

The tool loads the whole document to place its pages on sheets, so an encrypted PDF is refused before any layout work. Unlock the file in your reader, then prepare that copy.

  • Text became small after scaling

Fitting a larger page onto smaller paper scales everything down. Review the output — if legibility drops, print at actual size on the correct paper instead.

  • Margins are wider than the source

Margins are enforced so nothing lands in the printer's unprintable edge. Reduce them only if your printer handles borderless output.

  • Some pages still print oddly

Pages that were already correctly sized may need no change. Check the pages that differ rather than assuming uniformity.

Check before you submit

  1. Print one page first and compare it with the screen.
  2. Confirm the document's page size matches the paper in the tray.
  3. Check that nothing sits outside the printable area.
