The details

How it works and what to expect

How it works

  1. Upload your signature (scan or photo). Transparent PNGs stay transparent.
  2. Choose how to size it: fit a box, fix the width or height, or force exact dimensions.
  3. Optionally cap the file size — the engine re-encodes until it fits the limit.
  4. Download the resized signature and use it wherever the size is required.

Size notes

  • Fit and single-edge modes always keep the aspect ratio.
  • Exact width × height may stretch the signature out of shape.
  • JPEG never keeps transparency; use PNG for cut-out signatures.

Privacy

Signatures are processed locally and never uploaded.

Practical guidance

Using this tool well

When it is the right answer, what tends to go wrong, and what to check before you rely on the result.

Why use it

Signature fields usually constrain both pixels and bytes. Resizing to an exact pixel size — or to a maximum file size without changing the shape — solves the constraint in one pass instead of a cycle of trial and error.

Typical situations

  • A form accepts a signature image but rejects it for being over a KB limit.
  • The required pixel width is stated in the instructions.
  • A scanned signature is enormous and needs trimming to a sensible size.

Common problems

  • The signature lost its proportions

Entering both width and height freely reshapes it. Keep one dimension fixed, or use the exact-pixel mode only when the required ratio matches your scan.

  • It is under the size limit but still rejected

Some forms also constrain format or dimensions. Check all three — format, pixels and bytes — against the instruction text.

  • The background is opaque

Keep the file as PNG if the signature needs to sit over a form field; JPEG cannot carry transparency.

Check before you submit

  1. Open the result and confirm the shape still matches your handwritten signature.
  2. Check the file size sits comfortably below the limit, not exactly on it.
  3. Confirm the format matches what the form accepts.
